The roommates story

โ€œSometimes coincidences are a pleasant surprise in disguise. We discovered this after arriving at IIM Udaipur when introduced as roommates for the 1st year at the institute. A big realization struck that we studied in the same college during our graduation, lived in the same city for three years and graduated on the same day. Not once did we see each other earlier, only to travel a thousand miles and discover our common alma mater at the start of this exciting journey at IIMU.

Tough times are easier to manage when you have a friend to share your problems and worries. The shared accommodation becomes a cooking pot for cultural exchange, insights and support system. The reliance on your roommate to wake you up for that important lecture, his annoying alarms in the middle of the night and his stash of food that automatically belongs to you are some of the numerous things that makes having a room partner a great experience in the first year so much so that you almost regret moving to a new place next year. However, friendships last a lifetime and ours has just begun.โ€

โ€œAs days pass by, we share our opinions, ideas, and perspectives getting to know each other better. Those late night talks, sharing the day’s experience and making fun of each other is our routine which we enjoy because it is a short breather from the academic rigor. Every new friend is a new adventure, the start of making more memories. IIM Udaipur has given one to me in my room and 500 other in the campusโ€
