About:

The library at Indian Institute of Management Udaipur is an indispensable resource that provides comprehensive and authoritative information on subjects relating to management, business and allied areas as well as a selection of material on the social sciences and topics of general interest. It is fully automated using Koha with RFID technology. The library seeks young, enthusiastic and dynamic fresh post graduates in library & Information Sciences with a consistently good academic record to serve as Library Trainee on a purely temporary basis.

Essential Qualification:

Only fresh Postgraduates (MLIS) who passed out in the year 2023 from a recognized Institution/University with First Class. Candidates who are appearing for the final exam and waiting for results can also apply but at the time of the test/ interview, he/ she may have to submit results with minimum criteria.

Desirable Criteria:

• Basic knowledge of computers
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to perform calculations involving basic arithmetic functions with MS Excel
• Knowledge of DDC and MARC II
• Tact and courtesy in dealing with the library users

Stipend: Rs. 21,500/- per month

Age Limit: 25 years (as on the last date of application)

Duration of Training:

The term of appointment will be purely on a temporary basis for 6 months, by performance it may be extended further for maximum 6 months.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Accessioning, Classification and cataloguing of resources using standard rules
• Check-in/Check-out of resources
• Technical processing (Pasting Labels, RFID tags, Stamping etc.)
• Arranging books and periodicals on the racks and help to users in finding the books

Terms and Conditions:

• The selection of the candidate will be based on a written test/interview
• Selected candidates should be ready to work six days in a week/during weekends/on shift duties
• No TA/DA will be given for attending the selection test/interview
• Candidates, who get an e-mail confirmation, are requested to appear for written test (date and time will inform via e-mail to selected candidates)
• Training/internship certificate will be issued after completion of at least 6 months of training/internship
