Managers should think beyond ‘next quarter profit’ philosophy: IIM-U Director


Prof. Janat Shah, Director, IIM Udaipur, discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a change of perspective for managers and has made them think to look at the long haul and not just the figures of quarterly profits. He shared what he feels is the opportunity for students to learn lessons from this pandemic and reflect on how public and private corporations are responding to it globally. Prof. Shah had also shared his thoughts on the fundamental changes that companies would now need to incorporate into their way of working. He further added, history has shown that in such tough times, the organizations and individuals who were better prepared and trained to be adaptive came out stronger. IIM Udaipur works on the philosophy and rigor to develop and give a solid foundation to its students.
