The advisory board provides guidance to the Centre on its activities. The board comprises eminent regulators, academics, and practitioners. This diversity acts as an enabling force in the Centre’s activities aimed at achieving its objectives and making an impact.

Madhu Kampani


Madhu Kampani is a professional with an academic background in Law and Commerce. With a tenure of around two decades at JM Financial Group, she has been involved in championing organizational initiatives in the areas of risk management, employee engagement and development, CSR and business strategies. Her area of passion remains, fostering employee wellbeing, supporting sustainability and ensuring quality education for the children in need.

Madhu has played a critical role by providing leadership in Project Shiksha Samarthan, a significant initiative by JM Financial Foundation, that gained prominence during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic. This project, aimed at supporting Covid-affected families, has made a substantial social impact over the last three years. Project Shiksha Samarthan has contributed to the education nearly 8000 students, ensuring their academic needs are met up to the 12th grade.

Maneesh Dangi is a veteran of the industry. Currently, he is managing his venture Macro Mosaic Investing & Research Private Ltd and is an independent director and board member at JM Financial Products Ltd. Before these stints, he was with Aditya Birla Sunlife Mutual Fund for more than 15 years and held the position of Co-Chief Investment Officer when he left there in 2021. The list of leadership and portfolio manager awards that he has received is a testimony of the respect he commands in the industry.

Tarun Chordia

Professor Tarun Chordia is a celebrated researcher in Finance and holds the position of R. Howard. Dobbs, Jr. Chaired Professor of Finance at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He received his Ph.D. in finance from the Anderson School, UCLA, in 1993. Professor Chordia’s research is grounded in both theory and empirical methods and spans a diverse area of financial economics. He has published extensively in the top finance journals, including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Business, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Review of Finance, and the Management Science. He has received numerous awards for his research on empirical asset pricing and market microstructure.

Dr. Janak Raj

Janak Raj is a career central banker with a vast experience in monetary policy making and macroeconomic research. In his long career spanning close to four decades, he has held several important positions, including as Executive Director in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI); a member of the statutory Monetary Policy Committee of the RBI; Senior Adviser in the Office of the Executive Director India, International Monetary Fund, Washington DC; and Senior Consultant, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. He has also served as a director on the Governing Board of the BSE (formerly Bombay Stock Exchange).

He is currently working as a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress, a well-known New Delhi-based think tank. He has served as a member of several Committees/Working Groups constituted by the RBI, Bank for International Settlements, and Securities and Exchange Board of India. He has authored several articles/op-eds. in monetary policy, banking, capital market, inter-linkages between human development and economic growth, among others, in reputed economic journals/financial dailies. He holds a Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. He also attended a course on Executive Education Program, Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, New York.

Deep Narayan Mukherjee is a Risk Management professional with extensive experience in Risk Strategy, Digital Transformation, Econometrics, and ML. He has 20 plus years of experience in the domain and has worked across 5 continents with 40 plus financial institutions.

Deep has work experience with American Express (Institutional Risk Management), Fitch Rating (Structured Finance, Corporate Rating, Market & Macro Research), Cibil (Chief Product Officer). He has also extensive experience in Credit, Market, Commodities & Fraud Risk Management.

Currently, Deep is a Partner & Associate Director, Risk Management & Data Science at BCG India and is also the Credit Risk Topic Head for Asia Pacific, BCG.

He is a visiting faculty at IIM Udaipur, IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad, College of Supervisors, RBI.
