Program Details
Do I need to travel to Udaipur to participate?
Yes. During the three-year Program, courses will be delivered through a series of four two-week long residencies. During these residencies, there will be face-to-face classroom instruction, seminars and networking events. In between residencies, there will be assignments and projects that require collaboration.
Is attendance mandatory?
Yes, attendance is mandatory. Each student must attend all residencies.
When do EPhD classes meet?
EPhD classes are held during four on-campus residencies at IIM Udaipur over the first two years of coursework. Each residency requires a two-week commitment, with classes running from approximately 9 am to 6 pm, excluding Sundays. The students also meet during the 9 day long international immersion at the Fox School of Business, Philadelphia.
Do you accept transfer credit from other academic programs?
No. Since the program is a cohort-based, executive format, we do not accept credit transfers or waivers.
How long will it take to complete the Program?
The Program is a cohort-based model designed to be completed within three years. Special provisions can be made to extend the Program by one more year. The maximum duration of the Program is five years.

What factors are considered for admission to the Program?
Admission to the executive PhD Program is based on factors such as a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, a strong academic background (see Eligibility Criteria), and the candidate's ability and motivation to conduct practitioner-relevant research. A genuine desire for learning is essential.
Is an interview required?
Yes, an interview is required. All applicants shortlisted for the program must interview with our admissions committee before an offer of admission is extended.

How many executive PhD students are typically admitted each year?
Each year, about 10 to 13 executive PhD students are admitted, but the exact number can change depending on student performance and needs.
Must I apply for a specific area of specialisation, or can I choose one after admission?
The applicant does not need to apply for a specific area of specialisation. The applicant can choose one after admission from these four options: Finance & Accounting, Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources Management, Operations Management, and Marketing.
What financial aid options are available to the executive PhD students?
The EPhD program does not offer any financial aid.
Is accommodation provided for the executive PhD students?
Yes, all executive PhD students will get single accommodation at no extra cost during their residencies.
Is married accommodation available on campus during residencies?
