Vidyanjali is an initiative taken by the Ministry of Education, Government of India with the aim to strengthen Schools through community and private sector involvement in schools across the country.
Community and voluntary participation have an imperative role in enhancing the quality of school education. It serves as an effective means of advocating for and mobilising the resources needed for quality education throughout country.
IIMU being one of the top most premier education institute of the country aims to develop and strengthen the school education in the country.
While the academics and practices at IIMU are driven towards advocating and promoting responsible business practices, the IIMU community has undertaken several initiatives that stem from this very concept. Students of IIMU visit the adopted villages providing free lessons to children from Government schools and economically weaker sections . These initiatives are drives backed by a sensitive and passionate community comprising students, faculty and staff members.
As a part of its community outreach programme, IIMU’s Student under the initiative of “Vidhyanjali “ work towards the benefit of underprivileged students living studying at nearby government schools , where the Institute is located. Through this initiative, classes are conducted for students from Class IX to Class XII by volunteers (IIM Students), under the guidance of the CSR Department head and Senior Administrative officer – Ms Shanu Lodha
Classes related to subject assistance, career counselling, easy way of learning school subjects, Conducting awareness sessions, Women related topics, hygine etc. are conducted for students belonging to standards 6th,7th,8th , 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th . IIMU students make up the volunteer team which coordinates the activities of “ VIDHYANJALI “.They conduct various regularly with the families to which the SMILE students belong. The CSR Department head provides the overall leadership for this initiative.
Along with teaching activities various activities related to medical health etc are also conducted.
