Top 5 Rating for Research

As discussed in detail in the section Research Ecosystem, IIMU's objective is to establish itself as a leader in management research in India. To achieve this, IIMU is recruiting young faculty who have attained doctoral level degrees from leading schools in India and abroad and providing them with the working environment, funding, mentorship and other support they need so they can realize their full potential as researchers.

These efforts have already started to show impressive results. According to the methodology deployed by the UT Dallas' Naveen Jindal School of Management, IIMU is now rated 5th among Indian business schools based on research published in leading global journals. Only ISB, IIMA, IIMB, and IIMC, the most prestigious b-schools in India, are ranked higher.

UT Dallas has created a database to track publications in 24 leading business journals. The database, which is updated on an ongoing basis, contains titles and author affiliations of papers published in these journals since 1990. Using this database ( http://jindal.utdallas.edu/the-utd-top-100-business-school-research-rankings/index.php ) UT Dallas has been preparing the UTD Top 100 Worldwide Business School Rankings for research and the UTD Top 100 North American Business School Rankings for research. We have extracted information from this database to determine the UTD Top 10 Indian Business School Rankings for research based on papers published during 2014-2018. The UTD Top 10 Indian list is as follows:

* A single-authored paper results in the school of affiliation being credited with a score of 1. If there are multiple authors from different schools, each school gets a score of p/n, where p is the number of authors from the same school and there are a total of n authors on the article. If an author lists multiple affiliations, each of the schools that the author is affiliated with gets a corresponding scaled score. For example, if one of the authors lists m affiliations, each school that the author is affiliated with gets a score of 1/nm.
