Companies worked in
  • Unilever group of companies including Brooke Bond, Brooke Bond Lipton, Hindustan Lever and Fine Foods, Egypt – close to 28 years. Joined as a MT and left as Senior GM. Head of Sales in Brooke Bond for over 6 years.
  • KPMG Consulting – close to 3 years as a Principal Consultant.
  • CHR Consulting – over one year as a Director.
  • Last over 18 yrs – management consultant in Strategy, Marketing, Sales, Distribution and Operations Management – Network 7 Management Consultants (own firm).
  • Also a Guest faculty in Marketing in some leading business schools including IIM Udaipur.
Nature of experience
  • In Unilever it included sales, distribution, marketing, supply chain management and new business opportunity selection and corporate projects.
  • In KPMG Consulting focus was on consulting assignments in Operations management and specific responsibility for setting up a Supply Chain practice.
  • In CHR Consulting I had total responsibility for business in the South and focus on management consulting all India.
  • Some of the assignments handled as a free lance management consultant include:
    • Projects in sales, marketing, distribution and integration of the supply chain for a foods major in North India.
    • Completed a supply chain assignment for USAID in 9 states in India.
    • Completed process re-engineering for the largest Foods and Beverages company in Sri Lanka.
    • Completed an exercise in revamp of the distribution and supply chain network for a pharmaceutical major in India. The success of this assignment gave an opportunity for doing the same kind of assignment for this company in China.
    • A large number of training programs have been successfully completed for a host of companies in several industry verticals.
  • Continue to work as a Guest Faculty in Marketing, Sales, Distribution in several business schools including IIM Udaipur
Books
  • VMC has co-authored a Text Book on ‘Sales and Distribution Management – Text & Cases’ for MBA students. The book has been published by McGraw Hill Education, India and has done extremely well. The fourth edition is in progress
