IIMU Organised Green Campus Drive

IIMU Organised Green Campus Drive

Indian Institute of Management Udaipur has successfully organised a plantation drive on July 9th in its premises by planting 500 saplings as part of phase 1. Environmental consciousness is one of the core values of IIM Udaipur and the campus has been implementing activities to push for ecological sustainability.

This plantation drive is being implemented in two phases and as many as 1000 saplings are being planted during the current monsoon season. Native species that include medicinal, fruit, aesthetic, and hardy species (detailed list attached) are selected considering these are suitable to the terrain and habitat. All the saplings have been procured in consultation with the Udaipur Forest Department. In the second phase, an additional 500 saplings will be planted followed by a seed ball campaign (7000 seed balls) to rejuvenate the hillocks.

Speaking about the plantation drive at the campus Prof. Janat Shah, Director, IIM Udaipur, said, “This plantation drive is an important step towards building an environmentally conscious campus. The community of IIMU will continue with our efforts to strengthen ecological sustainability.”

All the stakeholders participated in the drive. Students committees, teaching and non teaching staff members of the Institute, representatives from Sarovar Group of Hotels (campus service providers), security personnel (SIS India) along with the students actively participated by planting saplings across the campus.
