Tracking-related experiences of second-generation Asian Indian students in the USA

Asian-Indian students remain an extremely underrepresented and understudied group, and with the unique experience this group faces, they also face a new set of challenges. In this study, using 177 in-depth interviews, the problems and obstacles faced by Asian-Indian students are studied, and the coping mechanisms with which they deal with these are found, along with how they determine which tracks to go into. Additionally, the literature regarding Social Reproduction Theory and Critical Race Theory are expanded upon.
